Why ABC Veterinary Assistant College- Because our Mission is to Help People Help Animals!
A Rewarding Animal Career Awaits You – Educate Yourself with the Leader in Animal Care Programs
Why ABC Veterinary Assistant School?
Animal Behavior College, Inc. (ABC) and our subsidiaries have been working with animal lovers for decades. We are a nationwide vocational school devoted to helping animal lovers succeed in the rewarding animal careers they dream of, without having to attend expensive veterinary schools. With programs of study specializing in the pet industry, ABC has become the industry leader in animal care courses. We often say we are in the business of helping people help animals.
Education has always been our mission. Beginning with the dog training industry, our sister company, Animal Behavior & Training Associates, Inc. (ABTA) sought to educate pet owners about the importance of obedience training and socialization. ABTA soon grew to become the largest independent dog training company in the United States, supplying certified dog trainers to companies such as Petco Animal Supplies (Petco) and the Veterinary Centers of America (VCA). After years of providing education and training to dogs and their owners, ABTA discovered there were a large amount of animal lovers wishing to attend vet schools or pursue careers working with animals. As animal lovers ourselves, we saw an opportunity to help them fulfill their dreams of working with animals, and thus Animal Behavior College was born.
ABC currently provides high quality educational animal career programs to students throughout North America who are interested in the training that vet assistant schools offer. Our Certified Veterinary Assistant Training Program is perfect for the individual wishing to have a better understanding of animals and to pursue a career in their caretaking.
ABC is owned and operated by avid animal experts and enthusiasts who are trained and eager to assist you in pursuing your dream career. Our friendly, helpful staff members are dedicated to animals and their well-being, and are excited to share this passion with you.
Upon contacting ABC, you will speak with an Admissions Counselor who will give you information and answer any questions you may have about the ABC Certified Veterinary Assistant Training Program and what sets us apart from other veterinarian colleges. Once enrolled, you will be assigned to a Personal Program Manager who will assist you throughout your ABC education. You will have someone to contact while you pursue each stage, and they will be able to address any questions you may have.
Perfect for the busy individual, the Veterinary Assistant Program’s flexible and convenient home study portion allows you to earn your veterinary assistant certification while studying in the comfort of your own home. When you have reached the externship portion of the Program, you will be set up at a local animal hospital or clinic to receive hands-on practice of what you have learned in the previous stages. With the combination of a thorough, comprehensive curriculum and an exhilarating, real-life experience in the field of veterinary medicine, you will be prepared to tackle your new profession with enthusiasm and confidence.
The ABC Veterinary Assistant Program is unique, containing both an in-home and hands-on component. Some veterinary schools require their students to relocate to on-site facilities for a period of time in order to complete their animal studies. This option isn’t feasible for most people, as it would obligate them to put their lives on hold (i.e. careers, other schooling). The cost to complete this type of program can be expensive as well. Brick-and-mortar veterinary assistant schools can charge anywhere from $9,000 to $11,000 for this type of comprehensive education.
There are also schools that don’t require any hands-on training at all. These programs consist of home study and exams, without providing the invaluable opportunity to work with a veterinarian or in an animal hospital environment. Hands-on training is critical! Research shows that 88% of veterinarians prefer to hire veterinary assistants who have already acquired hands-on experience.
At ABC, the time required for studying is easily manageable, even along with other work and/or family obligations. Many ABC students continue with their full-time jobs while earning their ABC certification. Also, the Veterinary Assistant Program can be completed in as little as 50 weeks. Just think – you can become an ABC Certified Veterinary Assistant and be ready to start your new profession in less than a year!
Because we understand the importance of official recognition, Animal Behavior College is a private vocational school approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (www.bppe.ca.gov) under the California Private Postsecondary Act of 2009 and Title 5. California Code of Regulations Division 7.5. Private Postsecondary Education. The Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education approval means that this institution and is operation comply with the standards established under the law for occupational instruction by private postsecondary educational institutions. Institutional approval is subject to continual review and the institution must reapply for approval every five years.
By educating our students, ABC can reach more pet owners and educate them on the importance of proper animal care. By doing this, ABC and ABC Certified Veterinary Assistants can help nurture and save the lives of beloved pets in every city across the nation for decades to come.
