If you’ve been thinking about offering dog training on Rover, here are three recent ABC trainer spotlights worth a quick read. Different backgrounds, different goals, same theme: ABC gave them a foundation, and Rover gave them a flexible way to put those skills to work and reach new clients.
Leticia: Building a Steady Client Stream
After years in an unfulfilling office job, Leticia took a leap into dog training and hasn’t looked back. She enrolled at ABC, earned her certification, and launched her own training business. To keep her client list full, she combined local marketing with Rover’s built-in client base. Today, Rover clients make up about 20% of her business. As Leticia puts it: “Go for it! Having the scheduling and client base ready to go makes all the difference.” (Of course, individual results vary.)

Marcus: Training on His Own Schedule
Marcus’ journey started at age 12 with a terrier mix who “definitely needed training.” That spark led him to ABC and eventually into a full-time role training comfort dogs for a nonprofit.
Rover gave him a way to take on extra clients without burning out. “I use Rover to find clients in my spare time. You can fit it around your schedule. It’s much more flexible than most other training jobs,” he shared.
Edina: Growing Toward a Bigger Vision

For Edina, dog training started in college while working hands-on with shelter dogs. She enrolled in ABC because, as she said, “They taught you how to run a business, not just how to train dogs.” After certification, she joined Rover to get her name out there without heavy marketing costs. “It really did help—I’ve found a lot of clients through Rover!” she shared. Edina now sets her own rates, offers multi-session packages, and groups appointments geographically to avoid burnout. Long-term, she hopes her training business will help fund her dream of opening an animal shelter.
Three Paths, One Platform
Leticia, Marcus, and Edina all use Rover differently – but the common thread is flexibility. Each found a way to plug Rover into their existing work, rather than building everything from scratch. Whether it’s filling gaps in a schedule, testing the waters with private clients, or growing toward a bigger goal, Rover has become part of their training toolkit.
