A Message from Brian Coyne, CEO of Animal Behavior College

Hello ABC community,
I’m excited to introduce myself as the new CEO of Animal Behavior College (ABC). As many of you may have heard, ABC was acquired by Peterson’s in September 2025 — a milestone that marks an exciting new chapter for the College, our students, and our alumni.
Briefly about me, I’m a dog person who is too busy to care for a dog, BUT was bullied into getting Penny by my wife and our two young daughters 3 years ago.

Oddly, no one in the family takes pictures of me and Penny, but the ABC team insisted that I include one here – so here’s my attempt to get her to take a picture with me, as you can tell I’m not a fan of the licking.
Back to the acquisition…
Peterson’s has been a leader in online learning and career preparation for more than 50 years, and this partnership brings together ABC’s exceptional expertise in animal career education with Peterson’s deep experience in digital learning innovation.

Over the coming months, our teams are working hard to modernize the ABC platform with new learning technologies, mobile-friendly tools, and enhanced content creation capabilities — all while preserving the outstanding curriculum and supportive community that have made ABC a trusted name in animal education.
Looking ahead to 2026, we’re preparing for a major relaunch of the ABC brand. The new platform will strengthen our role as a leader in the ever-growing field of animal professions, from training and grooming to veterinary support and beyond.
Just as importantly, we want to engage more closely with our ABC alumni community. Your feedback, ideas, and success stories are invaluable to shaping the next generation of ABC. In the coming months, we’ll be launching new initiatives to highlight alumni expertise, share inspiring stories, and gather input on how we can continue improving our programs and services.
Thank you for being part of the ABC family — past, present, and future. I’m looking forward to working with all of you to make 2026 our most exciting year yet.
Warm regards,
Brian Coyne
