Before becoming a dog trainer, I volunteered with rescue groups and individuals to help find homes, refuge, transport or spay/neuter options for those in need. It was always so fulfilling to know that you really could make a difference, even if it was one dog at a time. Over my years of volunteering, I adopted 4 of my foster dogs and ended up creating my “Pack of 5.” Realizing that adopting was just not enough, I became interested in making my dogs better by using positive reinforcement techniques to shape their behavior.
My belief is that an effective dog trainer will coach people on how to train their dogs. When I saw how a skilled trainer can really communicate with a dog and learned about the scientific basis for it, I was hooked and I became a certified trainer.
My mission is to teach owners to communicate with their pets and be able to alter an undesirable behavior. Experience the joy of a happy and polite dog in your life.
