I completed Animal Behavior College’s Dog Obedience Certification in June 2015. I am currently the sole proprietor of Kyle’s Dog Training and Boarding. It’s been a full calendar year now since I started my business. I’ve learned a lot about dog training and body language since then and even more about how to communicate effectively with my clients so that I am setting them and their dogs up to succeed.
I have volunteered for over three years with Pasado’s Safehaven Animal Sanctuary and worked to adopt the many dogs with physical and behavioral challenges there. It is my hope to continue helping dogs find good homes through positive training methods, patience, and compassion.
I have a background in cultural studies, and psychology, where I studied at the University of Washington (BIS-CLA 2008) and Cascadia Community College (AIS-2007). I have taken that knowledge and utilized it in the context of training dogs through the operant conditioning methodology. I have learned much in the last year about dog training. My perspective has evolved to a new level of respect and compassion for dogs, which motivates me even more than ever to help dogs and their owners live happier lives together. I look forward to the future and hope I can save as many dogs and
as many dog owners as possible. I could think of nothing more purposeful than this and I hope that I can save as many dogs as the ones that continue to save me every day.
